Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum
What an amazing find here in the middle of nowhere. Okay, there’s a whole town here, but still…
The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum has a 160 year history that you can read about if you’d like. We didn’t see any ghosts, as I’d hoped. But the 1 1/2 hour tour went on for 2 1/2 hours and we were exhausted.

None of the furniture is original, as people ransacked the place after it closed. These are all 19th century period pieces, though.
